ECG Test (Electrocardiogram) in Delhi
An ECG (Electrocardiogram / EKG) records the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time using electrodes placed on the skin. Each heartbeat produces electrical signals that travel through the heart muscle — the ECG records these signals as waveforms (P wave, QRS complex, T wave) that reveal the heart's rhythm, rate and electrical conduction.
ECG is fast (takes only 5 minutes), painless, non-invasive and provides immediate results. It is one of the most commonly requested cardiac tests and is essential for evaluating any cardiac symptoms.

Lie completely still for 30 seconds while the machine records. Talking or movement can distort the trace.

Can ECG detect a heart attack?
Yes, ECG can detect an ongoing or recent heart attack through ST elevation, Q waves and other changes. However, some heart attacks can have normal ECG. If chest pain is severe, go to emergency immediately.
